Celebrate Your Independence…and Your Personal Value Proposition
As we celebrate our patriotism, our BBQ, and everything that makes us uniquely American, I think it’s important to reflect on what makes each one of us uniquely us! Everyone has something that sets them apart from the pack, and that’s what a professional resume can illustrate when it’s done right.
How do you go about differentiating yourself? It’s usually much easier than you think. 90% of the time, I have a pretty good idea of a client’s personal brand within the first 10 minutes. It’s in the way you talk, answer questions, reflect upon your experience, and highlight accomplishments.
Whether you’re an administrative assistant that excels at project management, conflict resolution, bookkeeping, or international travel and Visa planning, there is a hiring manager out there that is looking for you. In marketing/advertising, you might be a digital expert or an exceptional media planning. Maybe you’re a a database marketing guru or exceptional in B2C strategy. Sales pros might be territory expansion experts or high powered trainers and mentors. Finance execs might be operations experts, quantitative analysts, risk managers, detail-oriented accountants or strategic investment advisors but the point is that you need to know who you are and what you are exceptional at BEFORE you walk into the interview.
One of the biggest value adds about working with a professional resume writer or career coach is a that they are experts at helping you look objectively at yourself and separate yourself from the crowd.
