Part of what I love about my job as a professional resume writer is that I get to help clients improve their lives. I know, it sounds hokey… but if you are hardworking, really care about what you do, and receive some good advice from a professional you really can put a stop to the Monday blues.
I speak from experience on this one. There was a time in my life when I consistently took jobs that required me to use little or none of my skills or talents. I wasn’t necessarily selling myself short but I definitely lacked some confidence. It showed! And on more than one occasion I found myself literally crying in the ladies room because I was so bored, underutilized and miserable in my job.
When I look back at that time, one thing that really stands out is how HORRIBLE my resume was. I remember thinking that I would never use a resume writer because I was great at writing. I tell this story all the time to my clients because it’s true. It is so hard to think objectively about yourself. And depending on your personality, you may be underselling yourself, coming across as too overconfident, or somewhere in between.
I love Mondays now. It’s kind of my favorite day of the week 🙂 Shh, don’t tell my husband!! I wake up on Monday with purpose, refreshed, and excited to dive in and see what the week brings. I’m definitely an entrepreneur at heart and having the ability to direct my own schedule agrees with me. It’s my dream – what’s yours? Whatever it is, just remember that it’s achievable but success comes in bits and pieces for most of us. My favorite advice (from my Mother… of course) is to do one thing every day. If you keep one foot in front of the other and don’t get overwhelmed by the enormity of what you want to do, your dream is within your reach.
